The National Weather Service in Seattle issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Cascades from Tuesday to Thursday.
Considering the cold air settling in this evening, that brings the possibility of snow mixed in with the convergence zone rain.
Seattle residents are facing a wet and windy morning with a 100% chance of rain and temperatures around 45°F. Wind gusts could reach 31 mph, making it feel closer to 39°F. A Coastal Flood Advisory warns of minor flooding in specific areas.
Slick spots on roads are possible Thursday morning. While lowland impacts look limited, the mountains will continue to see significant snow. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through 4 p.m. Thursday, with 2 to 4 feet of additional snow likely in the Cascades and at least another foot expected at the passes.
This cold snap marks a big turn from unseasonably warm weather earlier this month, but it is nowhere near as cold as it could get this winter.
